Today, five dedicated Young Marines and one recruit earned their Seamenship Ribbon. They attended a eight hour long course which included learning about boating knots, navigation and A.T.O.N.S just to name a few. The class was all instructional except for the hands on trainig with knots. But, these Young Marines pushed on and each passed their test with a grade of 100%. Not only did our Young Marines commit to the class, so did some of our staff: Mr. Riley, Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Spear. The Eno River Unit is very greatful to Mr. and Mrs. Richardson, from the U.S Coast Guard Auxillary, who provided us with this class.

Congratulations to: PFC Turner, Private Eichelberger, Private Spear, CPL Jackson, LCPL Nicholson, Recruit Guthrie

The Eno River Young Marines cooked dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House today. They made mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and fried chicken along with a side salad.  They were also able to eat dinner and hear the stories of the families staying there.

We had a great time and one family sent us the warmest thank you it reads:

" I need to tell you about a wonderful group of kids in the Eno River Young Marines!!! They came to RMH last night and made us s wonderful dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, caesar salad, green beans and dinner rolls. Followed by a yummy ice cream. These kids are ages 8-18 and are taught the traditional values taught to our men and women in the service. They are such respectful, polite kids. I was so impressed with them. What a wonderful way to teach children about community service. We spent a lot of time talking with them which I throughly enjoyed. They definitely brightened me evening. If any of you are reading this, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful home cooked meal. Thanks even more for the wonderful conversation and the way yuo care about Kaitlyn. I would love to continue to hear from each and every one of you as you are all special

Sleep well and God Bless

Jen

We also received this thank you from the Ronald McDonald Staff
